The racist morons attending this hateful “Unite the Kingdom” march are awful and I despise them. As a Londoner, I cannot emphasise strongly enough how this goes against everything I love about the city. The diversity and multiculturalism of London is the strongest part of it.

We lost Douglas Adams 25 years ago today. This has made a lot of people very sad and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
Labour need to give the public a reason to vote for them, as they can’t pitch “change” anymore (unlike the Greens) and 25%+ of voters don’t care about Reform’s cruelty. I would like them to move away from “cost of living” as they can’t control or deliver on it as well as “be mean to migrants”.
There seem to be two schools of thought- 1/Starmer should leave because he is unpopular & will lose the next general election 2/Starmer should stay because leadership elections are chaotic, he’s been overly criticised & there’s not an obvious alternative. Unfortunately both are basically correct.
Based on the local election results, it seems that most people in Barnsley, Wakefield, Sunderland, Thurrock, etc – the newly Reform-controlled councils – are at best indifferent to and unmoved by racism and xenophobia, and at worst outright supporters of fascist policies. I hate this.
